Sports and Recreation Commission of Zimbabwe advised
it’s cricket team not to visit Pakistan but Zimbabwe becomes first nation to
visit Pakistan after six years. So the Punjab government and PCB have assured
to implement perfect security for the success of the series. Fool proof
security plan has been designed for the Zimbabwean team which surpasses the
normal security in the country. Safety of the visitors is strengthened with the
deployment of over 4000 policemen while two companies of the Rangers will be reserved.

Police commandos did rehearsal of the plan on
Saturday leading two empty buses from the team’s hotel to Gaddafi Stadium and
then going back. The hotel and stadium route was banned for traffic and policemen were deployed after a distance
of 100 m. Patrolling police checked every road going to hotel and stadium. The
seven kilometer distance between hotel and stadium will be covered by the team
with out any presence of traffic. Helicopters are to hover over the routes and
the stadium on training and match days while 20 snipers are positioned on some
secret points.

The security plan will be headed by the Inspector
General Mian Mushtaq Sukhera of Punjab. 81 close circuit cameras will keep an
eye on the entire sports complex. Owners have been asked to vacate the shops
and restaurants around the stadium. Liberty roundabout is the entrance for the
public on foot and no vehicle will be allowed to enter the stadium. Agencies
