Chameera and Kaushal are future of SL cricket says Angelo Mathews

Sri Lanka have won the second Test and balanced the three-match series which pleases the captain Angelo Mathews but what makes him excited is the performance of two young bowlers who played their role in that win.Playing only his second Test off-spinner Tharindu Kaushal took five wickets in the first innings of Pakistan to constrain them to 138 and fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera who debuted in this Test bowled with a speed of nearly 150kph disturbing the Pakistani batsmen. He finished with four wickets in this Test.

Mathews said these two players can be assets of Sri lankan cricket and we should use them carefully especially Chameera. He noted he has seen Chameera bowled faster than any other bowler in this Test because he is very quick. The captain added they should be patient with them and give them chances.

The skipper admitted he knows that Kaushal is inexperienced but he has taken more than 200 wickets in domestic cricket, so they need to be positive with him. He added they also selected Dushmantha because they know he can bowl with great speed. Mathews explained he approached 149.9 which is outstanding for a Sri Lankan but it is very quick around the world also. He added that he can hopefully continue that.
