His international stint is going to end in the Sri Lankan summer of 2015 and he will be waiting to deliver his final best against his favorite pounding boys Pakistan. The wicketkeeper-batsman has compiled no less than 38 Test centuries so far at a top-class average of 58.66. Sunil Gavaskar, with 2,089 runs at just under 57 including five centuries in over 24 Tests, is his nearest opponent in terms of runs scored. He is 191 runs short to become the first batsman to compile 3,000 Test runs against Pakistan. The 37-year-old’s first test against Pakistan was at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore in March 2002 where he scored 230 leading his team to win.
