Pak registers historic win to clinch the series setting new records

Pakistan has defeated Sri lanka in the third and final Test to seal the series 2-1 after nine years on Lankan soil and this historic win has seen many records coming into being.  Pakistan defeated Sri lanka by seven wickets and snatched a historic victory with the help of star batsman Younis Khan and Shan Masood. Younis Khan remained unbeaten on 171 runs while captain Misbah ul Haq was not out on 59 runs. Young opener Shan Masood put Pakistan on the track to chase record total of 377 runs by making terrific 125 runs. Pakistan is the only nation in the history of cricket who has chased the highest total ever on Sri Lankan soil. Youins Khan and stylish opener Shan Masood came together to set a highest fourth wicket partnership record of 242-runs for Pakistan.


Pakistan’s famous star cricketer Younis Khan has registered another record to his name in the second innings of the final Test. Younis Khan scored fifth century in the second innings of the Test becoming the first batsman of the world to complete this feat. Man of the match award was given to Younis Khan for his superb match winning innings while Yasir Shah was named man of the series for his excellent bowling throughout the series. Pakistan climbs three points and reaches at third position in the ICC Test ranking table after winning series against Sri Lanka.


Pakistan will play a five-match one day series against Sri lanka starting on 11 July at Dambulla. The next ODIs will be played at Kandy, Colombo and Hambantota on 15, 19, 22 and 26 July respectively.
